We all know how beautiful the city of Montego Bay in Jamaica is and about the All-inclusive Hotels with the white Sand Beaches that stretch for miles. Jamaica is a melting pot of cultures mixed together which results in a beautiful life and unique people. There are so much hotels that one can visit as a family but what about the young college student looking for fun or the young groom and his groomsmen who just want a great drink and a night to remember?
On this Tour, I will take you Bar Hopping of some of the best spots to unwind, indulge and just have a great time in Montego Bay. This is for all those people looking for a fun time in Montego Bay.
The name says it all! What better place to start your Bar Hopping than in a place that means “A building for making Beer”. Located on Gloucester Avenue in the Miranda Ridge Plaza, the Brewery is a great place for friends and Bachelor parties to come and have a good time. During the day, this place seems like a mild mannered Restaurant/ Pub but after hours is when the real party begins.
The pulsating beats of Reggae Music from some of Jamaica’s popular artistes can be heard seeping through the walls and is sure to get you off your feet. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday Nights are filled with live Entertainment while Tuesday and Friday is Karaoke Night. These events usually draw visitors and locals alike who enjoy the alluring décor of the bar and lots of Appleton and Red Stripe Beer.
Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville
Another great place with a name that invites you to come in and choose from a list of alcoholic beverages. Margarita Ville is also located on Gloucester Avenue or “The Hip Strip” and is literally a Hop from The Brewery. This place unlike the Brewery is deemed as an entertainment complex with a Restaurant, Water Sports Events and Entertainment. By day patrons get to enjoy Water Sports like cliff diving or zip lining (if you are bold enough) and by night get treated to some of the best drink mixes with a taste of the famous Jamaican White Rum. This stuff is a creeper and will have you forgetting your name so you might want to go easy on those drinks. Maragitaville has entertained stars such as Nelly, Cindy Crawford and Tiger Woods (just to name a few) “Club Ville” is dubbed as the hottest Night Spot in all of Western Jamaica so come prepared to get down and have a great time. Big’s Bar B Que & Restaurant formerly The Twisted Quilt
Believe it or not, this use to be an Irish Pub. An Irish Pub in Jamaica you say? Yes! After all, the motto is “out of many one people”. If you know anything about the Irish is that they are alcohol connoisseurs. This quaint little Pub is one of the latest talked about spots located at the Casa Blanca Hotel on Gloucester Hotel. As you can see the best Bars are located on the Hip Strip. This newly transformed space now specializes in Bar B Que, but the bar has remained! Pick from Speciality Drinks like Smoking Mama, Keel Ova and a special Tennessee Tea. This place has a kind of Southern Bar B Que Feel ( if you are into that ) but you might want to call ahead before stopping by , just to see what they have available. Call 876-952-9488.
One of the latest additions to the Bar Scene on the “Hip Strip”. This place has a Latin vibe, if you can’t dance, there is room to learn. The Zinc Shac is known for its “Fiesta Night”, don’t worry if you can’t dance, there is an experienced Cuban instructor who will give you lessons before the Fiesta begins. This place has more of a real Jamaican Dancehall vibe so if you are looking to party like a local; this is the place you need to be. Because of the vibe of this Bar, most of their drink mixes are a combination of some of the young popular alcohol like “Street Vybz Rum”, Smirnoff Vodka (Flavoured) and Blackwell Rum. These are really strong drinks so you might want to be careful. Zinc Shac is more than a bar; it is also used to host events. Depending on the night you attend, there will be something going on. For more info, visit them on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/zinc.shack
Zinc Shac rounds up our Bar Hopping Tour in Montego Bay. If you are staying at a Hotel in Montego Bay, these places will be easy to find and some are even within walking distance. The drinking age in Jamaica is 18. It is strongly advised that when you drink, drink responsibly.
